How We Started
Hello, it's James, I am a FY1 doctor in Northern Ireland.
I was planning my own medical elective to Australia as a fourth year medical student. I was overwhelmed with organising visas, flights, accommodation, placements, vaccinations, police checks, medical checks and more! I wish I had students who had recently been on their elective to ask advice from.
What We Offer
We provide the following:
- Online events to help with organising a medical elective, becoming a doctor in the USA and alternative healthcare careers
- Various medical elective blog posts written by medical students from across the UK and Ireland
- Medical and travel related products
- Research and part-time work opportunities
- Accommodation for hospital and GP rotations
Our Elective Event
We ran the largest event for medical students planning their elective. We had 24 students who just completed their medical electives sharing to 215 students attending the event. We had experts in global health and travel medicine sharing about sustainability and staying safe on elective.
